Can I ask you a question?

Can I ask you a deep and personal question?

And I’d really appreciate your honesty.

Don’t worry, it’s not that personal.

I’m not asking what you had for dinner last night:)

Here’s the question:

What’s the most expensive thing you’ve ever bought?

Was it a house?

A car?

A designer bag or pair of shoes?

Whatever it was, take a second and answer that in your mind.

Now here’s a follow-up:

Was it worth it?

If yes, then I’m genuinely proud of you for making such a wise investment.

But if not… then I hope next time, you’ll choose better.

There’s a book I love — maybe you’ve read it too.

It’s Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki.

In that book, Kiyosaki simplifies everything we own into just two categories:

Assets: Things that put money in your pocket

Liabilities: Things that take money out of your pocket and lose value over time

For example, did you know the value of a car starts dropping the minute you drive it off the lot?

Try reselling it right away… You won’t get what you paid for.

But hey, this isn’t a financial literacy class (maybe I’ll start that someday for tech folks like you ).

Here’s my point:

The most valuable thing you can invest in… is YOU.

Not your looks, your perfume, or your wardrobe, but your skills.

The kind of skills that make you stand out and get paid well to solve problems.

Think about it…

One person charges $5/hour, another charges $5,000/hour, and someone else charges $35,000/hour.

What’s the difference?

Access to the right knowledge and tools.

That’s why I always say, Make it a habit to invest in yourself.

So let me leave you with one last question:

If someone hired you today to solve a real problem, how much would you confidently charge?

If your answer is high, then well done.

But if it’s low, my friend, it’s time to fix that.
