Make networking a habit
One skill every tech professional must master, especially in cybersecurity, is networking.
You never truly know where your next job opportunity will come from.
Many cybersecurity roles are filled through conversations, referrals, and relationships long before they are publicly advertised.
As you grow in tech, there are three categories of people you should intentionally network with.
First, people below you (those new to tech).
By helping and adding value to them, you build a community and strengthen your leadership and credibility.
Second, people at your level.
Your experiences are similar, which makes it easier to collaborate on projects, share insights, and exchange opportunities.
Third, people ahead of you.
They have more experience.
Your role here is to serve, add value, and earn their trust, not just ask for favours.
In the next newsletter, I’ll share practical strategies on how to network effectively.
See you soon.
