You Are Your Competition
Today, I felt like teaching, but I decided not to.
I took a moment to reflect on my life and thank God for how far He has brought me.
In that moment, I realized there’s an important lesson I want you to learn, too.
One of the easiest traps we humans fall into, especially when things aren’t happening as quickly as we’d like, is comparison.
Now, there’s a healthy kind of comparison:
When you look up to someone and feel inspired to grow or improve.
That’s fine.
But there’s the unhealthy one.
That’s when you look at someone doing better than you and begin to doubt yourself, your journey, or your decisions.
You start to ask, “What am I even doing with my life?”
You start to shrink instead of shine.
It often happens when we see our peers…
Those we studied with, grew up with, or started with, seemingly doing better than us.
But here’s the truth: there will always be someone ahead of you in some way.
That doesn’t mean you’re behind.
The real question is, are you growing compared to who you were yesterday?
Life isn’t a race against others.
It’s a journey of becoming the best version of yourself.
So, pause today and reflect:
Who were you last year? Who are you now?
Keep focusing on your growth, your journey, and your purpose.
You are doing better than you think.
Enjoy your day!
